ABOUT ME!

Beth Cheah is an actor, singer, writer, and lighting designer from KL. Currently studying in Sunway University’s Diploma in Performing Arts, she fell in love with acting in kindergarten and has been involved in numerous school productions and events, winning multiple awards for both acting and singing. She performed in Short+Sweet Theatre(2022) and What It Takes To Be(2024), where she also began her journey as a lighting designer and operator. She has continued to develop these skills, most recently in EJKLSSeni’s The Open Doors Project(2024). Beth is an alumnus of The Actors Studio Academy(2018-2022) and NIDA Open’s Actors Residency(2023).

My approach to each of my disciplines is to tell stories. The focus of my art is relationships. I like to explore the relationships we have with ourselves, the people around us, and the environments we’re in. I am an entertainer, and my goal for all my work is to foster connections between the audience and the art. By connecting with the art myself, I’m able to enjoy the craft of production work. I delight in the efficiency and structure it brings, and appreciate how it all comes together to tell the stories and create the experiences I strive for.
